Yes. Yangshuo in 2026 is a county town you sit in, on a karst river, not a Li River cruise that dumps you at a pier. The search "yangshuo" is a town question. Guilin is the region around it — already on Guilin Guangxi culture 2026. This page is the south bank: a street, a bike, a bank of the Li, the Yulong if you want quieter water. A locked boat with a lecture at every bend is a different SKU.

The karst is the setting, not the ticket
UNESCO's South China Karst is a serial property. Guilin Karst is the Guangxi component, inside Lijiang National Park, added in the 2014 Phase II extension. Two sections: Putao (葡萄), 2,840 hectares with a 21,610-hectare buffer — that fenglin (tower) cluster sits in Yangshuo County. Lijiang, 22,544 hectares with a 23,070-hectare buffer — fengcong (cone) karst along the gorge the river uses to reach this town. The World Heritage Committee decision (38 COM 8B.9) is the 2014 extension under criteria (vii) and (viii). That is the landform you live inside. It is not a boarding pass.
Yangshuo County Government sits at 县前街1号. The county is the frame. Guilin city is upstream. Do not treat this town as a photo stop at the end of a coach.
The Guilin Lijiang River Scenic Area Administration is the municipal body for the scenic river. Guilin's 2026 world-class tourism city meeting (31 March 2026) put Li River basin ecology first, then culture and outdoor days. The NPC record of Guangxi's protection work names the 2012 《广西壮族自治区漓江流域生态环境保护条例》, Guilin's scenic-area ordinance, and a Yangshuo County people's congress decision on fishing and hunting bans. That is a protection order. It is not a cruise timetable.
A coach that sells "Yangshuo" as the last pier of a morning Li River cruise is selling a product. Sit on a bank that already faces the towers. A small boat is a transfer if you already chose one stretch. A locked departure with a lecture at every bend is not the day. I will not invent a 2026 cruise price or a pier name. Those change.
This is not Huangshan granite. That ridge is stone steps and cloud, on Huangshan hiking and photography 2026. Yangshuo is limestone towers around a county town. Do not paste a Yellow Mountain dawn onto this river.
Hangzhou sits by a lake that UNESCO named as a cultural landscape, on Hangzhou West Lake culture 2026. Different water. Different sit. Do not stack a lake circuit and a river cruise because a brochure used the word landscape twice.
Town life: a street, a quieter river, a river town
West Street (西街) is the town street. Walk it. Eat. Leave the neon when it starts selling the mountain back to you. I will not rank bars. I will not invent a 2026 menu price.
The town's own water is not the Guilin-to-Yangshuo cruise. In 2019 the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 文旅资源发〔2019〕64号, named 广西桂林阳朔遇龙河旅游度假区 a national tourist resort. Guilin municipal reporting treats 遇龙河 as a Yangshuo scenic area with its own banks, not a substitute ticket for the main-stem cruise. Walk a lane. Sit by the water. A raft is a transfer if you already chose one stretch. A packaged "small Li River" loop is still a product.
Xingping (兴坪) is a river town on the same county map, not a second cruise terminal. Stay if you already chose the north of the county. Walk. Sit. Do not treat it as a photo stop between two boats.
The same Guilin report names both the Li River scenic area and the Yulong area as Yangshuo's own ground. That is enough. Do not punch a card of Moon Hill, a banyan, and a show.

The coming dest this page will name is guilin — dest slug guilin — because the county sits inside that city. Give the town nights. A day-trip sandwich from Guilin city that treats Yangshuo as the last pier of a cruise is the product this page is not.
