Crescent Lake rim. The oasis sits in the dune bowl. From the rim you frame water against sand walls; from the lower walk you frame reeds and the crescent shape against the dune face. Soft late light deepens the sand colour and keeps the water readable. Crowds concentrate on the easiest rim overlooks in the late afternoon. Arrive with time for the walk in soft sand.
