Refund Policy
Summary of Booking Conditions version 2026-09-21
Free planning tools do not create a paid booking. For a custom trip, the written proposal and booking conditions show the deposit, balance schedule, cancellation tiers, and any service fees before payment.
A 25% deposit of the trip price confirms your dates and is non-refundable, save where a refund is required by mandatory law applicable to you. The balance is due 60 days before departure unless your proposal says otherwise.
If you cancel, the following charges apply on the trip price:
- 60 days or more before departure — No cancellation fee on the unpaid balance. The deposit remains non-refundable.
- 30-59 days before departure — A 50% cancellation fee applies to the trip price.
- Under 30 days before departure — A 100% cancellation fee applies to the trip price.
Refunds are paid to the original payment method and in USD, less amounts committed to suppliers that we cannot recover and, where permitted by law, payment-provider fees that are not returned to us. See section 12 of the Booking Conditions.
If you have a billing or service concern, please raise it with us first under the complaints process in section 10 of the Booking Conditions, and allow us to respond, before contacting your card issuer. Section 11 sets out how payment disputes and chargebacks are handled.
Some supplier items may become non-refundable once confirmed, including train tickets, domestic flights, special hotel rates, guide slots, attraction tickets, and deposits. We identify known restrictions before confirmation where practical.
To request a cancellation or refund review, email service@localkeytravel.com with your order reference. We will confirm the recoverable amount after checking the applicable booking conditions and supplier rules.
