Yes. English "Taoist temple" near Chengdu usually means 青城山 — Mount Qingcheng. You walk a temple path on the mountain. You sit. That is the sit. It is not a locked Chengdu temple tour, not a Dujiangyan-weir combo coach, and not a hall punch card. I am Frank Zhang. I live in Suzhou. This page is how an independent traveler sits the Qingcheng temples from Chengdu.
The mountain is half of a World Heritage listing. The UNESCO World Heritage page records Mount Qingcheng and the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, inscribed in 2000. The same official brief says Mount Qingcheng was the birthplace of Taoism, celebrated in a series of ancient temples. China's National Cultural Heritage Administration page places the property in Dujiangyan City, Sichuan, lists criteria (ii)(iv)(vi), and repeats that Qingcheng is the origin place of Chinese Taoism, known for its old buildings. You sit one path. You do not tour the listing.
The mountain is not the weir
The listing is one property with two sits. NCHA's 2024 page puts both on the Minjiang at the west edge of the Sichuan basin. Dujiangyan is the irrigation system begun in the 3rd century BCE. Qingcheng is the Taoist mountain. Keep them apart on the day.

I will not name a ranking of halls. UNESCO says "a series of ancient temples." NCHA says 众多古建筑. That is the lock. A brochure that sells eleven halls in one morning is a group product.
How to sit without a temple tour
Go to Dujiangyan City from Chengdu. The official files do not publish a 2026 bus number or a ticket price on those pages, so I will not invent either. Buy the mountain ticket on site or through the channel the site names that day. Walk one path. Say 青城山 (Qīngchéng Shān) if you need a direction. If a hall is open and sitting is allowed, sit. Do not pose a ritual you were not invited into.
Pay by QR for water or a ticket window that takes it. Set up Alipay for foreigners before you want the window, not at the gate. Cash still appears at older counters. Do not count on English on the wall.
This is a Chengdu-side mountain day, not a teahouse morning. The teahouse sit is Chengdu teahouse experience 2026. Shu embroidery is a different craft on Chengdu Shu embroidery 2026. Huangshan and Tiger Leaping Gorge are other mountain walks — Huangshan and Tiger Leaping Gorge. Do not paste a weir ticket and a silk stop onto one Qingcheng morning because a brochure used the word Taoist twice.
Is Qingcheng a single Taoist temple?
No. The official files describe a mountain with a series of old buildings, not one hall. UNESCO's 1001 brief calls Qingcheng the birthplace of Taoism, celebrated in ancient temples. NCHA says the same in Chinese: 青城山是中国道教的发源地，以众多古建筑而著称. Walk one path. Do not collect a set.
Do I need a Chengdu temple tour to visit 青城山?
No. The sit is a mountain path in Dujiangyan City. Pick one path. Sit. LocalKey does not sell a temple van. Self-Guided or Tailor-Made can put the mountain into a Chengdu week you already chose. Is Qingcheng the same ticket as Dujiangyan?

Is this national ICH or World Heritage?
This page follows the World Heritage file, not a food-craft ICH number. UNESCO inscribed Mount Qingcheng and the Dujiangyan Irrigation System in 2000. NCHA repeats criteria (ii)(iv)(vi) and the Dujiangyan City location. The 2025 NCHA reply (文物保函〔2025〕189号) treats the property as a living protection plan, not a souvenir aisle.
How this sits in a Self-Guided or Tailor-Made week
Qingcheng does not need its own coach day unless you want the night. It can sit inside a Chengdu week you already chose — after a teahouse morning, or on a different day from Shu embroidery. Keep this as a temple-path sit, not a third attraction stacked between a panda ticket and a hot-pot mall.
