The villages are one World Heritage listing. The UNESCO World Heritage page for Ancient Villages in Southern Anhui – Xidi and Hongcun records the property inscribed in 2000, criteria (iii)(iv)(v). China's National Cultural Heritage Administration page titles the listing 皖南古村落——西递、宏村; places the heritage in 安徽省黟县; lists the same three criteria; and dates the inscription to 2000. NCHA places 西递 in the southeast of Yi County and 宏村 in the north, and dates the villages' starts to 1047 (Xidi) and 1131 (Hongcun). UNESCO's Outstanding Universal Value keeps both in Yi County, Huangshan City, south Anhui; sizes the current protected area at 730 hectares (Xidi property and buffer 400 ha; Hongcun property and buffer 330 ha); and keeps the villages as commercial, clan-based Huizhou settlements whose layout, architecture, decoration, and construction techniques still show Anhui village features from the 14th to the 20th centuries. I will not invent a 2026 ticket price, an opening-hour table, a bus number, a house count beyond what the official files keep, or a ranked "best alley." Those change.
