Yes. Suzhou's classical gardens — 苏州古典园林 — are scholar gardens you walk into and sit with: rock, water, pavilion, and a courtyard sized for one residence, not a theme park. That is the sit. The gardens are a World Heritage listing. The UNESCO World Heritage page for Classical Gardens of Suzhou records the property inscribed in 1997 and extended in 2000. China's National Cultural Heritage Administration page titles the listing 苏州古典园林; places the heritage in Suzhou, Jiangsu; lists criteria (i)(ii)(iii)(iv)(v); dates the first inscription to 1997 (拙政园, 留园, 网师园, 环秀山庄) and the extension to 2000 (沧浪亭, 狮子林, 艺圃, 耦园, 退思园); and locks nine listed gardens among more than fifty classical gardens that still stand. Go to Suzhou, Jiangsu. The official files do not publish a 2026 bus number or a gate price on those pages, so I will not invent either. Arrive at one listed garden. Walk the path the garden already uses. Sit if a pavilion or corridor is open. Say 拙政园 (Zhuōzhèng Yuán) or 留园 (Liú Yuán) if you need a name. Photograph rock and water only if the site allows it. Do not buy a locked departure that sells three gardens as stop two, three, and four on a commission day.
Pay by QR for a ticket if the site uses QR. Set up Alipay for foreigners before you want the day, not at the gate. Cash still appears in smaller rooms. Do not count on English on the wall.
