Cookies

LocalKey Travel uses lightweight cookies and local storage for analytics, saved UI state, and smoother planning tool sessions. Local storage also keeps the campaign link a visitor arrived from (for example UTM tags, and ad click ids if they accepted analytics cookies) for up to 90 days so an inquiry can be attributed to its source.

Necessary storage supports authentication, security, saved interface state, and planning-tool sessions. Privacy-conscious analytics help us understand which pages and tools are useful without selling personal profiles.

Analytics and your region

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and inquiries, and, once our Google Ads account is live, Google Ads conversion measurement. These set cookies such as _ga and _gcl_*. We use Google Consent Mode to tell Google which of them you allow. Ad personalization (remarketing) is off for every visitor.

We work out your region from the country of your IP address, as reported by our hosting provider. If you connect through a VPN or proxy, that is the country we see.

  • European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland (and any visit where the country cannot be determined): no analytics or advertising cookies are set and no Google tag loads until you click Accept. If you decline or ignore the notice, nothing loads.
  • Everywhere else: Google Analytics runs by default, with analytics and advertising measurement allowed and ad personalization off. A notice tells you this and offers Decline. Declining stops Google Analytics on this site and removes its cookies from this browser.

Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session replays of how pages are used) only runs after you click Accept or OK, in every region.

We also use Umami, a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool, for aggregate statistics such as page views, referring sites and inquiry form submissions. It runs for every visitor, sets no cookies, does not track you across other sites and collects no personal data. It is hosted by LocalKey on Vercel in the United States.

Language preference

When you choose a language with the language switcher, or open a page in a language other than English, we set a first-party cookie, lk_locale, that records that language (for example es) for one year, together with a second first-party cookie, lk_locale_src, that records whether you chose the language (user) or it was only noted because you opened a page in it (auto). It is a functional preference: it lets an English-only page offer you a link back to the version in your language. It is not used for analytics or advertising, is never sent to third parties, and does not redirect you. If you close that notice, session storage (lk_locale_notice_dismissed) keeps it closed until you close the browser tab.

If your browser's language is one we publish in and the page you are reading has a version in it, a small bar may offer a link to that version. It only suggests; it never redirects you. If you close it, your browser's local storage (lk_locale_suggest_dismissed) remembers that for that language. It is a functional preference, not used for analytics or advertising and never sent to third parties.

Changing your choice

Your choice is saved in this browser's local storage (lk-cookie-consent) and applies until you change it or clear your browser data.

Analytics cookies in this browser: off

You can also remove non-essential cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Blocking necessary storage may prevent account, saved-plan, or security features from working correctly.

Personal-data rights, retention, service providers, and deletion requests are explained in the Privacy Policy.
