What this trip is for

A starting shape, not a fixed package.

This is for classical culture lovers, tea enthusiasts, photographers, and slow travelers who want a focused east-China route. April-May and October-November are the best windows; summer is humid and crowded, while winter can reduce visibility on Huangshan.

  • West Lake, Wuzhen, Huangshan, and Hongcun arranged as one classical visual arc
  • Longjing tea village and tea session requested with real timing, not a token stop
  • Yellow Mountain sunrise with a mountain-lodge night and weather-aware fallback
  • Two UNESCO anchors: Huangshan and Hongcun ancient village

    Longjing tea and river context

    Hangzhou

    Morning

    Water town overnight

    Wuzhen

    Morning

Private drive to Wuzhen, with timing chosen to avoid the worst entry crowd pressure.

    Afternoon

Canal lanes, bridges, and a slower Jiangnan water-town route that leaves room for photography.

    Evening

Overnight in or near Wuzhen, using the quieter evening window after day visitors leave.

  4. 04

    Transfer to Huangshan

    Huangshan

    Morning

Transfer toward Huangshan using the best mix of car and rail for the final schedule.

    Afternoon

Arrival in Huangshan town and hotel check-in, with mountain weather reviewed before the ascent day.

    Evening

Tunxi Old Street and Anhui dinner, kept close and practical.

  5. 05

    Yellow Mountain ascent

    Huangshan

    Morning

Cable car up Huangshan, with luggage handling and walking route planned around weather and fitness.

    Afternoon

Full mountain day across selected viewpoints; the route protects energy for sunrise.

    Evening

Mountain lodge night. Comfort is simple by city-hotel standards, but positioning matters for the next morning.

  6. 06

    Sunrise and Hongcun

    Huangshan / Hongcun

    Morning

Yellow Mountain sunrise plan with a fallback if clouds close in, then descent by cable car.

    Afternoon

Hongcun ancient village for architecture, water reflections, and UNESCO context.

    Evening

Return to Huangshan town or stay near Hongcun depending on flight and rail timing.

  7. 07

    Rail back to Shanghai

    Shanghai

    Morning

High-speed rail back to Shanghai with transfer buffer and passport timing handled.

    Afternoon

Departure from Shanghai or a final overnight if international flights make the day too tight.

    Evening

If staying, keep the last dinner close and avoid adding another long cross-city move.
